Our Practice

A Thoughtful and Personalised Approach to Therapy

Seeking support can be one of the most important decisions a person makes. We understand that finding the right psychologist is about more than qualifications or therapeutic approaches. It's about finding a space where you feel understood, respected, and able to explore the challenges that matter most to you.

At Life Growth Psychology, we provide therapy for adults experiencing a range of emotional, relational, and psychological difficulties. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, grief and loss, self-esteem concerns, OCD, ADHD, or simply feeling stuck in repeating patterns, our aim is to provide a therapeutic experience that is both compassionate and effective.

Looking Beyond Symptoms

While reducing symptoms is often an important part of therapy, we believe lasting change often comes from understanding the deeper patterns that contribute to distress.

Many of the difficulties people experience today are connected to earlier experiences, relationships, beliefs about themselves, or ways of coping that developed over time. Therapy can provide an opportunity to better understand these patterns, make sense of their origins, and begin responding to them in new ways.

Rather than asking, "What's wrong with me?", we often explore questions such as:

  • Why do I keep finding myself in similar situations?

  • Why do I react so strongly to certain experiences?

  • Why do I struggle with self-criticism, anxiety, or relationship difficulties?

  • What patterns am I carrying that no longer serve me?

Therapy Tailored to the Individual

No two people arrive at therapy with the same experiences, goals, or needs. For this reason, we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our clinicians draw from a range of evidence-based therapies, including:

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Schema Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills

The approach used will depend on your unique circumstances, goals, and what is most likely to support meaningful change.

Trauma Informed Care

Many of the people who seek support at Life Growth Psychology have experienced difficult or overwhelming life experiences.

Our work is grounded in an understanding of trauma, attachment, and the ways past experiences can continue to influence thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships long after the original events have passed.

We recognise that healing often requires more than simply talking about what happened. It involves creating safety, developing new ways of relating to ourselves, and processing experiences that may have felt overwhelming at the time.

In-Person and Telehealth Appointments

Appointments are available from our Melbourne clinic locations in Prahran and Fitzroy, as well as via secure telehealth.

Whether attending in person or online, our goal is to provide a welcoming and professional environment where meaningful therapeutic work can occur.
