About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience supporting adults and couples. A significant part of my work focuses on helping adults understand and heal the lasting impact of childhood trauma, emotional neglect, emotionally immature parenting, narcissistic family dynamics, and other emotionally unhealthy family environments.

My practice is guided by warmth, curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for each person's unique story. Together, we'll make sense of the patterns that have shaped your life, understand how they developed, and help you build greater self-trust, healthier relationships, and a life guided by choice rather than survival.

My Approach

I believe meaningful change begins with understanding yourself through curiosity and compassion rather than judgement.

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and attachment theory, recognising that many of the struggles we experience as adults are understandable adaptations to our life experiences rather than signs that something is wrong with us.

Rather than focusing solely on reducing symptoms, I work collaboratively with you to understand how your experiences have shaped the way you relate to yourself, others, and the world. Together, we'll make sense of the protective patterns that once helped you survive, understand why they continue to show up today, and gently heal the emotional wounds beneath them.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel genuinely understood, emotionally safe, and supported to create a different future.

Experiences and Special Interests

I work with individual adults and couples.

I have a particular interest in helping adults heal the lasting impact of:

  • Childhood trauma

  • Childhood emotional neglect

  • Emotionally immature parenting

  • Narcissistic family dynamics

  • Dysfunctional family systems

  • Family scapegoat and parentification roles

  • Complex trauma (C-PTSD)

The impact of these early experiences often extends far beyond childhood, shaping the way you relate to yourself, others, and the world. They may underlie many of the difficulties that bring people to therapy, including:

  • Shame, chronic self-criticism, and low self-worth

  • Perfectionism and people pleasing

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Attachment and relationship difficulties

  • Repeating unhealthy relationship patterns

  • Enmeshment and difficulties with boundaries

  • Anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, and burnout

  • Grief and loss

  • Personality vulnerabilities

Rather than simply managing symptoms, my work focuses on helping you understand and heal the underlying patterns that continue to shape your emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self.

I also enjoy working with couples to better understand how each partner's early experiences, attachment patterns, and protective strategies influence the way they relate to one another.

Therapies

Every person's story is unique, and therapy should reflect that.

I use an integrative, trauma-informed, and attachment-based approach, tailoring therapy to your individual experiences, needs, and goals.

My work is primarily informed by:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Schema Therapy

Depending on your individual needs, I also draw on:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills

  • Mindfulness

While the therapies I use are important, they are simply the tools. My approach is always guided by your unique experiences, ensuring therapy is tailored to your individual needs and goals, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

How clients describe working with me

Clients often describe me as warm, perceptive, compassionate, and easy to talk to. They tell me they feel genuinely seen, deeply understood, and accepted, often for the first time. They value my attuned and compassionate approach, and the space we create together to make sense of experiences that have felt confusing or overwhelming for many years.

I believe therapy is about more than exploring difficult experiences. It's about creating a genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to be yourself. Where appropriate, I use humour to help people feel comfortable, connected, and at ease, while making space for meaningful reflection and growth.

A little about me

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature, reading, listening to music and podcasts, and continuing to learn. I'm endlessly curious about psychology, human behaviour, history, and the profound ways our earliest relationships shape who we become.

It is a privilege to walk alongside people as they begin to understand themselves with greater compassion, heal from the past, and create lives that feel more connected, authentic, and fulfilling.
