About Me

I'm a Clinical Psychologist and Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor who works with adults and couples.

Many of the people I see have spent years wondering why they think, feel, or respond the way they do. They often arrive carrying the effects of childhood trauma, complex trauma (C-PTSD), difficult family relationships, or patterns that continue to affect their relationships, emotions, and sense of self.

I believe therapy is about much more than managing symptoms. My role is to help you understand the experiences that shaped you, make sense of the protective ways you've learned to cope, and support you in creating change that feels authentic and meaningful.

My Approach

I believe people make sense once we understand their story.

When we take the time to understand someone's history, even the behaviours or emotions that feel frustrating, confusing, or overwhelming usually have a story behind them.

Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?", I'm interested in asking, "What happened, and how has your mind learned to adapt?"

My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and contemporary approaches that recognise the remarkable ways people protect themselves following adversity. Together, we'll develop an understanding of the patterns that continue to influence your life today, not to judge or eliminate them, but to understand what purpose they have served and what they may still need.

I see therapy as a collaborative process. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you, creating a space where insight, healing, and meaningful change can unfold.

Experiences & Special Interests

I work with individual adults and couples experiencing a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

I have a particular interest in helping adults heal from:

  • Childhood trauma

  • Complex trauma (C-PTSD)

  • Dysfunctional family systems

  • Narcissistic family dynamics

  • Family estrangement

  • Attachment and relationship difficulties

  • Internal conflict and identity difficulties

  • Problematic Pornographic Use

  • Gambling Addictive Processes

These experiences often contribute to difficulties including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Shame

  • Perfectionism and people pleasing

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Burnout

  • Grief and loss

Alongside my clinical work, I am a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor and enjoy supporting psychologists, provisional psychologists, and clinical registrars to develop both their clinical skills and therapeutic confidence.

Therapies

No single therapeutic approach is suitable for everyone.

Rather than fitting people into one model, I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies and tailor my approach to your individual experiences, goals, and preferences.

My work is primarily informed by:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Schema Therapy

I also integrate principles from:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills

  • Motivational Interviewing

While different therapeutic models provide useful ways of understanding psychological difficulties, I believe the relationship we build together is just as important as the approach itself.

How clients describe working with me

Clients often tell me they appreciate having a space where they don't feel rushed, judged, or expected to have everything figured out.

They describe me as thoughtful, approachable, compassionate, and easy to connect with. Many say they leave sessions with a deeper understanding of themselves, rather than simply feeling like they've been given advice.

I value creating conversations that are both practical and reflective, balancing gentle curiosity with honest exploration. Where appropriate, I also enjoy bringing humour into the therapy room, because meaningful work doesn't always have to feel heavy.

A little about me

Outside of psychology, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, discovering new TV shows, keeping active, and finding new cafés and restaurants. I'm naturally curious and enjoy learning about psychology, history, philosophy, and the many different ways people make sense of themselves and the world around them.

Being invited into someone's story is something I never take lightly. It is a privilege to witness people develop greater self-understanding, reconnect with parts of themselves that have been overlooked, and move towards lives that feel more authentic, connected, and fulfilling.
